Bread & Thread Ministry
The Bread and Thread Ministry is one of believers equipped for service through the preservation of
needlework art and the utilization of the gifts of the culinary arts.
This ministry fulfills the following needs: Fellowship and learning while providing physical, emotional
and spiritual food. In the Outreach component of our ministry, we give comfort to the needy and
remembrance to the sick and shut-in by sending cards and giving quilts and prayer shawls. All quilts
and prayer shawls are lovingly made and, before being donated, fervently are “prayed over” in the
hope that they will bring comfort, peace and joy to the recipients. A key element of our Outreach
ministry is hosting meals for residents of Ronald McDonald House at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
Membership in the Bread and Thread Ministry is open to anyone who enjoys or wants to learn
needlework and the culinary arts whether they are young or mature, members of our church family
or another church family, and to members of the community at large. The ministry meets in the
Fellowship Hall at the Main campus on Tuesdays with culinary delights provided on the second
Tuesday of each month.
Our vision is to continue supporting the Family Life Center, increase our level of service to the community and preserve and continue the joy of needlework and the culinary arts
